The Georgia Baptist Convention was held at the First Baptist Church of Atlanta (Nov. 9-11). The pre-meeting worship service and the Evangelism Conference were both helpful and inspiring. And the Convention itself was peaceful and celebratory.
Also during the month of November, we finished our Backpack collection. Over 400 Backpacks were received and are being used to show the love of Jesus and to provide opportunities to spread Gospel seed. Thank you to the following churches for your participation in this ministry -- Center Grove, Mission Ridge, Grand Center, Head River, New Lookout, Cassandra, New England, Flintstone, and Lookout.
With our attention towards the Thanksgiving holiday, let us say now "THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF THE NWGA AND LV BAPTIST ASSOCIATIONS!" And Thank you God for the many, many, many blessings You give!!!
To everyone in both of our Associations -- I hope you have a Great Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. I do understand that we live in a fallen world and that these holidays do not turn out like Hallmark movies. They can be filled with pain, sorrow, and disappointment. But, as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we can still - even through tears - celebrate. God has blessed us so much ... we can give thanks. God sent His Son into the world to save us ... we can have a merry Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Savior. God may give us a new year to worship and serve Him ... we can have hope and joy at the start of a new year. Let's focus on God and His goodness during this holiday season and enjoy all the best He has for us.
